Jul 15: Foreign Exchange Abroad

Greetings Rotarians and Friends,

RI President Stephanie Urchick recently wrote on the essence of our organization—the sense of belonging and purpose that Rotary offers. Stephanie urges us to make Rotary “simply irresistible” by enhancing our club experience, engaging every member, and fostering an environment where everyone feels valued and essential. The following actions are inspired by Stephanie’s advice:

  1. Let’s talk openly about what we want from our Rotary experience and collaborate to create a welcoming, engaging environment for all. Ensuring our member satisfaction surveys are relevant to all members can provide valuable insights into how we can improve and grow together.
  2. Invite friends and acquaintances from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives to join us. By sharing our passion for community and service, we can attract individuals who bring fresh ideas and enthusiasm to our club.
  3. Take advantage of the tools and resources available through Rotary International. These can help us strengthen our service projects, offer professional development opportunities, and provide mentorship that enriches our Rotary journey.
  4. Highlight our impactful projects, such as the ongoing fight to end polio, to engage potential members and show them how their involvement can make a real difference in our community and the world.
  5. Participate in initiatives like the Rotary Positive Peace Academy. We create a more inclusive and harmonious club environment by fostering peace and understanding.

Thank you for your service and dedication to our club.

Yours in Rotary,

James Wernicke, Service Chair

“The magic of Rotary can have its greatest impact when Rotary members and community leaders come together to solve problems and transform lives.”

Service Opportunities

Ruidoso Fire Relief

We have received inquiries from clubs and members eager to know how they can contribute. We believe the most effective approach for our district is to send donations directly to the Ruidoso Club’s Foundation. This will enable the Ruidoso Rotarians to allocate funds to where and when they are most needed. Your willingness to help and participate fills us with pride. Please send your donations to the address provided below, and they will be forwarded to the President of the Ruidoso Club.

Call For District Articles

D5520 Newsletter Editor Don Powell is requesting articles for the district newsletter Yucca. Keep your articles short and concise to help us produce a shorter newsletter. Photos are OK. Just remember to put down the names of the folks in the photo. We (the Yucca readers) would like to see flyers of your upcoming fundraisers and events and photos of the aftermath. We will inform you of the district happenings and upcoming events, conferences, seminars, training, etc.
