Jul 9: The Magic Of Rotary

Greetings Rotarians and Friends,

As we step into a new Rotary year, I am filled with optimism and excitement for the possibilities that lie ahead. This year brings with it fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and a renewed commitment to service. Our new board brings their unique experiences and insights that will undoubtedly enrich our club. Their enthusiasm and dedication to Rotary should inspire us to strive for greater heights in our service projects and community engagement.

We must also be mindful of our challenges, particularly the issue of declining membership. Recent resignations have shown us areas where we need to improve, such as promoting respect, discouraging gossip, staying apolitical, resolving disagreements, enhancing club communication, and fostering an inclusive and dynamic atmosphere. This offers us an opportunity to reevaluate our approach and think creatively about how we can attract and retain members, foster an inclusive and dynamic environment, and make our club a place where people are eager to join and participate actively.

This year, let’s focus on building strong connections within our community, reaching out to potential members with the message of Rotary’s impact and the personal growth that comes from being a part of this incredible organization. Together, the magic of Rotary can turn our challenges into stepping stones toward a stronger, more vibrant club Thank you for your unwavering dedication and for being a part of this journey. Here’s to a year filled with service, fellowship, and positive change.

Yours in Rotary,

James Wernicke, Service Chair & Newsletter Editor

D5520 Learning Facilitator Jen Dresser is organizing an online Innovation Workshop. Workshop topics include:

  • Exploring Innovation: Ever wondered about the different types of innovation and how they relate to our Rotary Clubs? We’ll dive into this fascinating topic, sharing insights and sparking creativity.
  • Real-Life Examples: From personal experiences to Rotary success stories, we’ll showcase inspiring examples of innovation. Have a story to share? We’d love to hear it!
  • Techniques for Club Innovation: Learn practical techniques to promote and foster innovation within your Rotary Club. Whether it’s a fresh project idea or a creative membership approach, we’ll explore ways to infuse innovation into our clubs.
  • Who is this for: Anyone who is interested in their Rotary Club’s success and growth. Success requires new ideas and getting out of our comfort zone. We want to learn together what innovation is and why it is critical, and how we can all help build for Rotary’s future.
